Looking for a new host or having a problem with your current hosting provider?
There are so many hosting companies out there it’s not worth the worry.
Tell us about your good and bad experiences.

With WordCamp Birmingham so close to our meeting date we will forgo the meeting this month.
There are already 11 speakers and of course Matt Mullenweg will be the keynote speaker.
http://wordcampbirmingham.org/schedule/
This is a Saturday and Sunday event (September 26 & 27th). I’m looking for a hotel that will be close to both venues and think I can get a room discount with 10 or more rooms.
I urge everyone to attend this event. Saturday will be the big day with an 8am registration:
so get there early.
Mashup Night!
We will connect with 2 blog networks that will propagate your posts to your profile and to friends in your network.
You will need ftp access to your site and/or access to – edit or widgets on your site.
So bring your laptop/netbook.
Connect to MSN/Bing
Will Bing over take Google? I don’t thinks so, not this year anyway. But it will be an important aspect to any seo work because of it’s new relationship with Yahoo.
We will make a direct connection with our WordPress site and Bing that will almost guarantee an indexing (not a positioning). We will add a plugin for this. You will also be able to duplicate this process with Google as well.
What you will need:
WordPress 2.7+ or 2.8+ on your host
a hotmail or msn email account
We have a lot of work cut out for us so get their early if you need extra time.
Look forward to seeing you all there.
This meeting will be about how to find the write plugin that’s safe & secure and installing. OK there may also be a top 10 list, but the idea is finding plugins that will compliment your site.
I would like everyone to talk and give a demo of their top 1 or 2 plugins or widgets.
There are over 4,000 plugins and widgets:
How do you choose the right one for you?
Which ones are the standard you want on every site?
How can you optimize them for your site?

The first meeting will be about organizing the group and how we will network and redesigning the Atlanta WordPress Group site, goals and ideas.
Have any ideas on:
Location of the meeting
It should include a good (free)wifi connection and a place for a large group to talk.
Day & Date
I thinking maybe Saturday may not be the best day:
Meeting Topics
Some topics that come to mind: seo plugins, calendars, css, different themes, items that should be on the website: members list, job board, announcements, and etc..
There is a lot going in in Atlanta on the 18th, barcamp, L5Ps Hallowwen Party and more I’m sure, so if you can’t make it please leave a note, ideas or what ever.
